(@jay-kim) can you try without using PowerShell? I'm thinking there may be some configuration with it that is preventing the use of the Python Interpreter.

the terminal window where you run commands is called powershell.

@admin yuck! 🙃 I'm not using windows, is it possible to tell VSCode to use command.exe instead of PowerShell?
