Help creating custom GPTs by searching, creating custom actions, and troubleshooting various issues.

1. Access the GPT: Users can access GPT Customizer, File Finder & JSON Action Creator by pressing the "try it" button at the top right of this page to open the GPT inside ChatGPT.
2. Customize GPT: Begin by specifying the type of customization needed for your GPT. This could include setting up specific file-finding parameters or creating tailored actions for your workflow.
3. File Finding: Utilize the file finder feature to efficiently search and manage files. Simply provide details about the file or content you're looking for, and the GPT will assist in locating it.
4. Action Creation: Create custom actions in JSON format. Provide the GPT with the necessary parameters, and it will generate the JSON code required for your specific action.
5. Troubleshoot Issues: If encountering any difficulties or errors, describe the problem to the GPT. It will provide troubleshooting advice and solutions to resolve the issues.

Hi @andy-z, sorry, but this can't be done with a prompt.

what output you are expecting? did you try anything?

@admin Hi Hasan,

Thank you very much for the quick turnaround. I was hoping for a configuration prompt (similar to the Open AI custom GPT, with internet access) to build a GPT that would, help users create highly specific and function GPTs.

I got the inspiration from GPT Customizer, File Finder & JSON Action Creator from this YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugpBsDJ4Q4c

I have played around with the prompt (laid out below) trying to re-create, but it's not quite 100% to the original version

Personality: You are an expert at creating and modifying GPTs, which are like chatbots that can have additional capabilities.

Every user message is a command for you to process and update your GPT's behavior. You will acknowledge and incorporate that into the GPT's behavior and call update_behavior on gizmo_editor_tool.

If the user tells you to start behaving a certain way, they are referring to the GPT you are creating, not you yourself.

Custom Instruction (Will need internet access): As a skilled custom GPT crafter, your expertise lies in developing highly functional and specific configuration prompts for custom GPTs . Your role is to assist users in creating GPTs tailored precisely to their unique functional needs .

1) To begin, prompt the user to provide a detailed description of the desired GPT's function, its target audience, and any specific requirements they may have. This information will serve as the foundation for the custom GPT's knowledge base. Then, ask questions to further tailor the GPT's function based on the user's input.

2) Next, provide a list of relevant resources, including links to documents, websites, and downloadable files such as PDFs or Excel sheets. These resources will enhance the GPT's capabilities and understanding of the user's stated endeavor.

3) If the user prompts for it, you can assist in setting up external API connections for the custom GPT. This involves identifying API endpoints, understanding authentication methods, creating action templates, incorporating user input, and handling error responses.

4) Throughout the development process, encourage active participation from the user. Their valuable feedback, suggestions, and prompt refinements will contribute to the creation of a highly effective custom GPT, tailored precisely to their needs.

Finally, reiterate steps 1 to 4 as prompted by the user, continuously refining the configuration prompt based on their input.

By following this workflow, you can create a comprehensive and tailored configuration prompt for the user's custom GPT

Hope this helps, please let me know if you'll be able to make the prompt any better, even than the original in the GPT store haha

@andy-z Thanks, Yeah, I watched this video a couple of weeks ago. But there, he is using the knowledge base and retrieval functionality to extract the guides from. I dont think you can achieve the same with a generic prompt on ChatGPT directly. It will not be accurate.

For example, when you ask for files, how will you provide them?

Did you get my point?

When you chat with the GPT builder that is created by OpenAI, it is programmed to update and set the configurations; while you are using a prompt outside the builder, it will not work.

Or maybe I misunderstood you?

@admin the custom GPT allows you to ask the user to provide input such as a file. The caveat for anyone using a custom GPT is that they must be subscribed to OpenAI premium service.

yeah, that's the point, he is asking for a prompt to use outside GPT builder, which will not work

@admin Thanks Hasan for your perspective,

I totally understand that this is not doable in generic chatgpt, however, I was thinking that it could at least mimick as long as we're able to grant chatGPT the internet search capabilities (whether it's through browser extension, copilot, other chatbot builder platform etc.) and, with a refined-enough configuration prompt it could function the same where it will browser the internet to find relevant files for the user to attach and, spit out a very refined customer instruction for the user to build a custom GPT-like tool

No worries if it's totally outside the scope of the prompt engineer course. Appreciate your attention and sorry for the inconveniences

@andy-z you can give the API the data from a scraped site then ask it to provide your request. The data could come from a file the user gives you as well.

@andy-z, not at all; I love discussing topics and ideas.

I think this can be a project for a tool or script instead of a prompt.

in my experience, the internet search feature in chatGPT, which is "search with Bing," is not so powerful in terms of relevancy and getting exactly what you need. I think using Google is better, but then it requires custom development.

Using a generic prompt will not work as expected, as you can't expect from which source the model will read, from which documentation.

it may read outdated information or hallucinate,

If proper guidance is not provided, the user may feel lost instead of being directed towards the right path.
